Minutes 19 FEB 08

President Judy Houston opened the meeting at 7:00 PM.

By unanimous vote, here are the new officers starting Mar ’08 through Jan ’09:
President: Hugo Ehret
V President: Lee Lasson
Sec’y& Treas: Anne Ehret and Ed Acela (shared this year)
Program Dir: Lee Lasson

There was discussion about EPICUG’s magazine subscriptions (contribution) in the library. Both “Max PC and “Wired” are up for renewal. The library suggests dropping both as neither has been checked out in the past year. (We also pay for “PC World,” “PC Magazine” and “Tech Review” none of which are up for renewal now). Another party contributes “MacWorld,” so that was not an option. Group decided to Keep”Wired” and drop “Maximun PC.” The group will also adopt “PC Photo” when it comes up for renewal.

DISIG meets Feb, 28, 7 pm in the Hondius Room.

Hugo suggested a very timely program for March: a demonstration of using free software to do your income taxes online. He will present this topic. Mary Scott will talk to the library about rescheduling the program intended for March.

If any member has an idea for a program – there are only 3 months available. This year members are taking responsibility for a month: find a presenter/topic or be the presenter with your own topic.

The Estes Park Computer Users Group (EPICUG) will meet Tuesday March 18th at 7:00 PM in the Al Wasson Room of the Estes Park Public Library (335 East Elkhorn). THE ROOM IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING.

AARP will have representatives there and three computers will be available for doing 2007 taxes; so we can learn how to file with software.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008: MobileMe or not?

Hugo left town leaving me to my own devices so...

Lee Lasson will {try to} demonstrate the brand new Apple's MobileMe syncing Windows PC, Mac, and iPhone using push technologies. It isn't totally working as of today so we'll all have to see what tomorrow brings. We'll also play "Stump the Group" so bring your toughest computer questions and we'll try to answer them -- or not! <g>
